ISABEL RAMOS
Sertão
The theme of this work was inspired by a long journey that Ramos did in the Brazilian Atlantic Coast. During the field research, Ramos quickly became absorbed by the richness and the density of the Atlantic Forest, making several sketches and collecting different images and natural elements like leaves, roots, fruits, seeds, branches and stones.
The large dimension of the canvas intends to reflect nature’s magnificence. Technically, it functions like tapestry to emphasize the naturalistic origin. Therefore, this art work is an unframed canvas, it’s made with collages of acrylic manta and canvas, different types of ropes, some natural elements and water-based paints.
The backside of the canvas has holders to hang on a support like a wood ribbon (this kind of support can be included on the packaging), to suspend the work on the wall.
The materials, of certified artistic quality, were carefully selected and are of a great plasticity and resistance, allowing the work to be rolled up and easily transported.
